Fill the frame

So, Dan and Alea both have really cool cameras and they are doing different assignments with their photos. Dan invited me and my Sony(never buy a Sony camera) point and shoot camera along. My pictures will not be anything like theirs, but at least I will learn some stuff about photography. Here is my first attempt....

Whoa- It doesn't look that blurry when it is smaller.

Like a great photographer once told me, "It's not the camera, it's the nut behind the lens." I know some really great cameras that have awful owners- photographically anyway. An awesome camera makes things easier for sure and will expand your capabilities, but if you can get really good with a really crappy camera, then imagine what you can do with a great one!
You can come play with mine if you'd like! :)
Eva is so cute. I think you did a pretty darn good job for a first try! :)

Thanks Kristyan. You are sweet!

Great Pic! One nice thing about filling the frame is that you eliminate everything that could be distracting in a photo.

KakesW is exactly right. Its like a photographer friend of mine told me once, "you are the artist, you have the talent, not the camera". Learn to use the camera the way an artist would learn to use a brush and it won't matter if you have a $10,000.00 set up or a $100.00 setup. Don't be to hard on your Sony, you might be surprised at what you can do with it, especially if you read the owners manual.

Renae,

That looks great! I'm so excited you are doing the assignments too! This will be a blast- I love seeing how unique we all are. Someday, we should put together a collection of all our photos and make a book! Can't wait to see more pics!

Also, if you go to www.corel.com and go to Free Trials, you can download "Paint Shop Pro Photo X2" and use it free for a month. I really like this software compared to all the other ones I've ever tried-

Renae

Thanks for all the advice! I am excited about learning new techniques.

Alea came up with this weeks assignment...the rule of thirds. I will send you and e mail with a link to a pretty good article explaining...

You guys are so cute! All playing together with something you all have in common. :-) It's really fun for me to watch. :-)
Hey, I was thinking we all should get together the Sunday after the Superbowl. How does that sound?

Alea

Renae, or try Photoshop Elements- Dan uses that one. I'm going to download their free trial. :-)
